Le tronçon du rempart romain comprend une courtine entre deux tours circulaires. De celle de l'est subsistent les fondations et quelques assises de l'élévation. Celle de l'ouest est tranchée verticalement. Le rempart semble avoir été construit au début du 1er siècle de notre ère (fin du règne d'Auguste, ou début de celui de Tibère) , ce qui le place parmi les enceintes urbaines les plus anciennes de la Gaule romaine. Les vestiges d'un vaste bâtiment antique s'appuient contre le rempart. Ce bâtiment pourrait être postérieur à 350 après JC. History
The section of the Roman rampart comprises a curtain between two circular towers. Of the one on the east, the foundations and a few courses of the elevation remain. The one on the west is cut vertically. The rampart appears to have been built in the early 1st century of our era (end of the reign of Augustus, or beginning of that of Tiberius), which places it among the most ancient urban enclosures of Roman Gaul. The vestiges of a vast antique building rest against the rampart. This building could be later than 350 AD. The architectural forms employed and the elongated plan are close to the great ceremonial buildings of the 4th to 8th centuries.
