The Ministère de la Culture's notice
Historique

History
The appearance of a stronghold taken by the castle suggests that it held its place in the medieval seigneurial disputes. The walls underwent important restorations in the crenellation system at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. The castle comprises a central courtyard closed to the south and west by two dwellings at right angles; to the north and east by a brick wall flanked at the corners by round towers. Except for the western building, the whole presents a feudal defence system (wall-walk, crenellations, machicolations).
