Les pigeonniers étaient très prisés dans le Midi toulousain, jusqu'au 19e siècle, la fiente de pigeon étant utilisée comme engrais. Jusqu'au 17e siècle, ils constituent l'apanage des châteaux ou des grandes propriétés dont ils se trouvent éloignés de plusieurs mètres. Au 18e siècle, ils sont plus nombreux mais toujours isolés. Ici, le pigeonnier est sur arceaux, avec un toit pyramidal à quatre pans. Double ceinture de défense : une corniche saillante au-dessus des piliers ; une bande en carreaux vernissés sous la corniche du toit.

History
Dovecots were highly prized in the Toulouse region to the south, until the 19th century, pigeon droppings being used as fertilizer. Until the 17th century, they constitute the appanage of castles or large estates from which they are found several metres distant. In the 18th century, they are more numerous but always isolated. Here, the dovecot is on arcades, with a pyramidal roof with four sides. Double belt of defence: a projecting cornice above the pillars; a band of glazed tiles under the cornice of the roof.
