Historique
Le village faisait partie de la châtellenie de Fronsac et possédait un châtau fort. La construction de ce château semble dater de la fin du 13e ou du début du 14e siècle. History
The village was part of the castellany of Fronsac and possessed a strong castle. The construction of this castle appears to date from the end of the 13th or beginning of the 14th century. The walls in irregular rubble stone are reinforced by chains in coursed granite blocks. Blocks of the same type frame the loopholes. At the central part of the south façade, a rectangular wall, crowned with crenellation, dominates the curtain wall. The south curtain wall extends towards the east to reach a postern. The other sides of the fortification must have served as a quarry for the inhabitants of the village. Like most Pyrenean fortifications of the period, the castle did not possess a corner tower.
