History
According to the cadastral register of 1768-1772, this house was occupied by a canon. This part of the village contained a large number of canonical houses, the cathedral of the Sède being served at that time by twelve canons. The façade is without particular architectural refinement and fits into the 18th-century alignment of houses on the street. A few sculpted details indicate the kinship link between all these houses. The interior has preserved intact the structure and decoration of 18th-century urban architecture. This structure comprises four levels served by a central staircase. The latter features a unique example of a sculptured wooden banister in Rocaille style. Plasterwork decoration, also in Rocaille style, adorns the fireplaces and walls of the first-floor drawing room and the two bedrooms on the second floor.
