Historique
Croix du 15e siècle, érigée le long d'un itinéraire secondaire du pélerinage de Saint Jacques de Compostelle. L'ouvrage, en lave, se compose d'un emmarchement à deux gradins sur lequel est posé un bloc monolithe cubique, dont la partie supérieure est délardée en cavet renversé. Le fût de la croix et le croisillon sont sculptés dans deux blocs distincts. A mi-hauteur, le fût est orné d'une sculpture représentant le donateur agenouillé et accompagné d'un phylactère. Sur la hampe, saint Just, évêque de Lyon et patron de la paroisse, entouré de deux bergers, repose sur une corniche qui pourtourne la base de la hampe. La croix est à traverses courtes et fleuronnées. La face principale représente une crucifixion, avec le Christ et les deux larrons, la Vierge, saint Jean s'essuyant le visage avec son manteau et sainte Madeleine. Le revers représente la Vierge à l'enfant avec une Nativité : Vierge, saint Joseph, l'âne, le boeuf et le berceau en osier. Cette croix se distingue par son iconographie originale.

History
Cross of the 15th century, erected along a secondary route of the pilgrimage to Saint James of Compostela. The structure, in lava stone, consists of a base with two steps on which is placed a cubic monolith block, whose upper part is bevelled to a reversed cove. The shaft of the cross and the crosspiece are sculptured in two separate blocks. Halfway up, the shaft is adorned with a sculpture representing the kneeling donor accompanied by a scroll. On the upper arm, Saint Just, bishop of Lyon and patron saint of the parish, surrounded by two shepherds, rests on a cornice that runs around the base of the shaft. The cross has short and floriated arms. The main face depicts a crucifixion, with Christ and the two thieves, the Virgin, Saint John wiping his face with his mantle and Saint Mary Magdalene. The reverse depicts the Virgin and Child with a Nativity: the Virgin, Saint Joseph, the ass, the ox and the wicker cradle. This cross is distinguished by its original iconography.
