Au centre du bassin se dresse le fût de section cubique au-dessus d'une base continuée par un large socle de plan carré. Sur chaque angle est sculpté, en haut-relief à la partie inférieure, un dauphin dont la tête s'appuie sur chacun des angles du socle inférieur et dont seule l'extrémité caudale émerge de l'eau. Cette eau s'écoule de quatre mascarons sculptés sur chacune des faces du fût : têtes de dauphins dans un entourage de feuillages. A partir de ce niveau, les angles du fût sont coupés en biseau jusqu'à un masque humain au menton orné d'une barbe et au front ceint d'une couronne de feuillages en éventail.

History
In the centre of the basin rises the shaft of cubic section above a base continued by a broad plinth of square plan. On each angle is sculpted, in high relief in the lower part, a dolphin whose head rests on each of the angles of the lower plinth and of which only the tail extremity emerges from the water. This water flows from four masks sculpted on each of the faces of the shaft: dolphin heads in a setting of foliage. From this level, the angles of the shaft are bevelled to a human mask at the chin ornamented with a beard and at the brow encircled by a crown of fan-shaped foliage.
