Edifice construit de 1800 à 1806 sur les plans de l'ingénieur Lallié, puis achevé en 1814 par l'ingénieur Demets, représentant la première préfecture bâtie en tant que telle en France. De style néo-classique, il se compose d'un avant-corps à fronton sur la façade ouest et d'une rotonde, tous deux ornés d'un décor de pilastres doriques et de frise à métopes. History
Building constructed from 1800 to 1806 on the plans of engineer Lallié, then completed in 1814 by engineer Demets, representing the first prefectural building built as such in France. In Neo-classical style, it comprises a pavilion front with pediment on the west façade and a rotunda, both decorated with Doric pilasters and frieze with metopes. The interior of the rotunda houses an Empire drawing room with star marquetry parquet and coffered stucco dome.
