Edifice de plan carré, flanqué aux angles de tours rondes. Sa construction remonterait à la fin du 13e siècle. Ce château était un des postes de la citadelle de Saint-Flour. Ruiné en 1405 par les Sanflorains, il fut rebâti en 1411 sur le plan de l'ancien édifice. Les Huguenots le prirent en 1575. Les tours furent utilisées comme geôles par les évêques de Clermont. Cet édifice possède un plan caractéristique du 14e siècle.

History
Building of square plan, flanked at the corners by round towers. Its construction would go back to the end of the 13th century. This château was one of the posts of the citadel of Saint-Flour. Ruined in 1405 by the Sanflorains, it was rebuilt in 1411 on the plan of the old building. The Huguenots took it in 1575. The towers were used as prisons by the bishops of Clermont. This building possesses a plan characteristic of the 14th century.
