Historique
D'après un dessin de 1675, le château comprenait deux corps de logis d'équerre, accompagnés de deux petits pavillons. Un des deux corps de logis a disparu. Il reste un fronton Renaissance à l'ouest, une porte moulurée sur la face sud ainsi qu'une tourelle. Le château a servi de lieu de séjour à Honoré d'Urfé, gouverneur du Bourbonnais, époux de Gabrielle de Lévis, dame de Châteaumorand, laquelle acquiert le château en 1569. Honoré d'Urfé en fit don à la ville de Moulins en 1604, pour la création d'un collège de Jésuites. Ce legs n'ayant pu se réaliser, Jean-Claude de Lévis vendit le château aux Jésuites en 1634.

History
According to a drawing of 1675, the château comprised two dwelling blocks arranged at right angles, accompanied by two small pavilions. One of the two dwelling blocks has disappeared. There remains a Renaissance gable on the west side, a moulded door on the south face as well as a small tower. The château served as a residence for Honoré d'Urfé, governor of Bourbonnais, husband of Gabrielle de Lévis, lady of Châteaumorand, who acquired the château in 1569. Honoré d'Urfé donated it to the city of Moulins in 1604 for the creation of a Jesuit college. As this bequest could not be realised, Jean-Claude de Lévis sold the château to the Jesuits in 1634.
