Gentilhommière représentative des constructions de ce genre en Bourbonnais au début du 17e siècle. L'édifice se compose d'un corps de logis rectangulaire dont le rez-de-chaussée, élevé sur cave, est surmonté d'un étage, et qui possède une tour circulaire en saillie à l'angle. Sur la façade Est, les deux portes ont conservé des éléments de leurs anciens piédroits abattus d'un cavet. Elles ont, comme les fenêtres, reçu des linteaux en arc surbaissé. Sur la moitié gauche de la façade, apparaît l'encadrement mouluré d'un tore de la porte primitive, dont le linteau est surmonté d'un bloc de calcaire sculpté d'un cartouche à enroulements, chargé d'un médaillon où sont figurées les armoiries des De Bron et des Saint-Hilaire. Quatre fenêtres ont conservé leurs menuiseries du 18e siècle. La tour circulaire présente, sous la fenêtre de l'étage, une pierre sculptée d'armoiries. Près du château se dresse le colombier carré qui a conservé quelques éléments d'encadrements anciens, ainsi qu'un vieux puits dont la margelle possède un appui mouluré.

History
Country gentleman's house representative of constructions of this kind in Bourbonnais at the beginning of the 17th century. The building comprises a rectangular main dwelling whose ground floor, raised over a cellar, is surmounted by a storey, and which possesses a circular tower projecting at the corner. On the East façade, the two doors have retained elements of their ancient jambs cut with a quarter-round moulding. They have, like the windows, received depressed arch lintels. On the left half of the façade, appears the moulded frame of a torus of the primitive door, whose lintel is surmounted by a block of limestone carved with a scroll cartouche, charged with a medallion where are figured the arms of the De Bron and Saint-Hilaire families. Four windows have retained their 18th-century joinery. The circular tower presents, beneath the first-floor window, a stone carved with arms. Near the château stands the square dovecote which has retained some elements of ancient framings, as well as an old well whose rim possesses a moulded rail.
