Autrefois siège de la justice ducale, puis de la justice royale. L'entrée du château s'effectuait par la basse-cour qui aboutissait au pont-levis, devant la première tour de défense. Une salle de défense occupe le rez-de-chaussée, s'ouvrant sur le pont-levis par un arc en tiers point. Les corbeaux du plancher primitif subsistent. L'aile gauche conserve une pièce qui devait être la grande salle, avec ses bancs de pierre dans l'épaisseur des murs. Dans une pièce voisine, présence d'une cheminée du 16e siècle. La chapelle occupait l'aile droite. Il en reste une fenêtre géminée surmontée de chapiteaux à feuillage.

History
Formerly seat of ducal justice, then of royal justice. Access to the castle was through the lower courtyard which led to the drawbridge, before the first defensive tower. A defensive room occupies the ground floor, opening onto the drawbridge by a pointed arch. The corbels of the primitive floor remain. The left wing retains a room which must have been the great hall, with its stone benches in the thickness of the walls. In an adjoining room, the presence of a 16th-century fireplace. The chapel occupied the right wing. There remains of it a geminate window surmounted by foliate capitals.
