Historique
La tour de l'horloge, de plan rectangulaire, construite en grès rouge et jaune, fut achevée en 1408. Le sommet qui contenait le beffroi fut consummé par un incendie (1655) et reconstruit au début du 17e siècle. Cette partie moins ancienne se compose de deux étages, le premier avec une galerie couverte faisant le tour des quatre faces et le dernier en forme de lanternon à huit pans. Sur la balustrade sont fixées quatre statues de la famille Jacquemart tournant le dos à la cloche. La Révolution fit disparaître la couronne royale qui surmontait le couronnement. Dans la partie rectangulaire se trouve un puits, l'escalier à vis conduisant aux étages supérieurs et la gaine des contrepoinds de l'horloge. Du sol à la plateforme du lanternon, la hauteur approche 31 mètres.

History
The clock tower, of rectangular plan, built in red and yellow sandstone, was completed in 1408. The summit which contained the belfry was consumed by a fire (1655) and rebuilt in the early 17th century. This less ancient part consists of two storeys, the first with a covered gallery going around all four faces and the last in the form of an eight-sided lantern. On the balustrade are fixed four statues of the Jacquemart family turning their backs to the bell. The Revolution caused the royal crown which topped the crowning to disappear. In the rectangular part there is a well, the spiral staircase leading to the upper storeys and the shaft of the clock weights. From the ground to the platform of the lantern, the height approaches 31 metres.
