Edifice remanié et en partie reconstruit au 17e siècle sur des substructions médiévales. Le château présente un ensemble complexe de bâtiments servant d'habitation ou de grange dont certains sont ruinés. Le mur d'enceinte à l'intérieur duquel se trouve la plupart des édifices est encore visible. A l'intérieur de ce mur cantonné de deux tours, se trouvent deux maisons et un petit château, ainsi qu'une tour, tous ces vestiges présentant des caractères anciens. Hors de l'enceinte se trouvent une troisième maison et un deuxième petit château. Le portail d'entrée témoigne des anciennes fortifications, s'ouvrant sous un arc en plein cintre appareillé. La tour située à l'angle nord de l'enceinte passe pour avoir été l'ancienne chapelle. A l'intérieur de l'enceinte, présence de l'ancienne entrée d'un souterrain, petit édifice sphérique ouvert par une entrée arquée. Les toitures de l'ensemble sont intéressantes en ce qu'elles juxtaposent les modes du nord et du midi, dû au fait que le Bourbonnais se trouve au point de contact entre les deux régions.

History
Building remodelled and partly reconstructed in the 17th century on medieval substructures. The castle presents a complex ensemble of buildings serving as dwelling or barn, some of which are ruined. The enclosure wall within which most of the buildings are found is still visible. Inside this wall flanked by two towers are two houses and a small castle, as well as a tower, all these remains presenting ancient characteristics. Outside the enclosure are a third house and a second small castle. The entrance portal bears witness to the former fortifications, opening under a round arch with dressed stone. The tower situated at the north angle of the enclosure is said to have been the former chapel. Inside the enclosure, presence of the former entrance to a underground passage, small spherical building opened by an arched entrance. The roofing of the ensemble is interesting in that it juxtaposes the styles of the north and the south, due to the fact that Bourbonnais is found at the point of contact between the two regions.
