A l'origine, l'emplacement semble avoir été occupé par deux maisons qui furent réunies par une façade unique. La façade sur cour fut apparemment élevée au début du 17e siècle. L'ensemble formait à l'époque l'hôtel Colin des Roy. Dans le courant du 18e siècle, l'édifice est repris par les barons de Vachères qui firent probablement construire la façade sur la place. £Constitué de quatre corps de bâtiments juxtaposés, l'édifice adopte un plan irrégulier ordonné autour d'une cour carrée. Le bâtiment parallèle au bâtiment sur la place renferme un escalier de pierre à jour central, tournant à quatre noyaux à volées droites. Il est soutenu par de massifs piliers carrés supportant des arcs cintrés et reliés par une balustrade en pierre. A partir du deuxième niveaux, l'escalier se poursuit selon les mêmes dispositions mais est réalisé en bois.

History
Originally, the site appears to have been occupied by two houses which were united by a single façade. The façade facing the courtyard was apparently raised in the early 17th century. The whole formed at that time the hôtel Colin des Roy. During the course of the 18th century, the building was taken over by the barons of Vachères who probably had the façade on the square constructed. Consisting of four juxtaposed buildings, the structure adopts an irregular plan ordered around a square courtyard. The building parallel to the building on the square contains a central open staircase of stone, turning with four cores with straight flights. It is supported by massive square pillars supporting round arches and linked by a stone balustrade. From the second level onwards, the staircase continues according to the same arrangement but is realised in wood.
