Historique

History
This viaduct, built from 1921 to 1925 on the line known as the Transcévenole by engineer Paul Séjourné, marks the apogee of the stone bridge construction system. The viaduct consists of eight arches of 25 metres, in round arch with conoidal intrados. The structure forms a curve of 326 metres, without buttresses, nor abutment piers, nor chain bonds. Thanks to the use of cement mortar, the piers are very slender. Since the line has not been profitable for a long time, the viaduct remained unfinished. From 1958 onwards, the works already completed were sold in separate lots.
