Historique
Structure médiévale divisée à la Renaissance et réhabillée à l'époque classique. Comme vestige de construction romane, il ne reste au n°26 qu'une colonne engagée au premier étage se poursuivant au second avec un chapiteau à feuillages du 12e siècle. La maison n°26 résulte de la séparation en deux parties d'un immeuble plus ancien qui englobait le n°24. La porte d'entrée du 26 est munie d'une imposte en ferronnerie Louis XV. L'entrée du 24 s'effectue également par une porte cintrée à clef qui paraît du début du 17e siècle. Le 26 a conservé un beau décor intérieur du 18e siècle (escalier à balustre ; hall plafonné de larges planches à moulures...). L'une des chambres, au premier étage, constitue un remarquable exemple de l'art décoratif du Velay au 18e.

History
Medieval structure divided at the Renaissance and refaced in the classical period. As a remnant of Romanesque construction, at no. 26 there remains only a pilaster at the first floor continuing to the second with a foliage capital of the 12th century. House no. 26 results from the separation into two parts of an older building which encompassed no. 24. The entrance door of 26 is furnished with a transom in Louis XV ironwork. Entry to 24 is also by a round-arched door with key which appears to be from the early 17th century. 26 has preserved fine interior decoration of the 18th century (staircase with baluster; hall ceiled with broad moulded planks...). One of the rooms, on the first floor, constitutes a remarkable example of the decorative art of Velay in the 18th century.
