The oldest mention of the fief dates back to the 14th century. It is a small fortress of quadrangular mass flanked by circular towers, resulting from three campaigns of works undertaken from the 14th to the 17th century (south main dwelling and stair tower: 14th century; north-west main dwelling: 15th century; north main dwelling: 17th century). The windows of the west and south elevations are alterations or piercings datable to the 16th century. The interior has retained some traces of different occupations: monumental fireplaces, panelling, painted tympanum of the 17th century, spiral staircase. Its dependencies include agricultural buildings, servants' lodgings, a washhouse, a barn-stable, drying sheds. This castle is an example of vernacular architecture of the Livradois.
