Historique

History
Built in the 13th or 14th century, the château illustrates the styles that succeeded one another until the 17th century. The building consists of a main dwelling flanked by a rectangular pavilion to the north and a round tower to the south. In this tower is fitted the south wing which returns towards the west. Extending the pavilion and set back from it, the north wing forms a strong projection towards the west. In the angle of the north wing and the main dwelling rises the stair tower which is flanked by a sort of redan. The château has retained its medieval character, the other periods being chiefly marked in the openings (late Gothic, Renaissance, classical period). Inside, a collection of paintings is said to be the work of the painter Moillon and to have been executed around 1653. Also, Gothic fireplaces. Older than the château, of the chapel there remains only the eastern part, made of three aisles joined together which are prolonged by an apse between two absidioles. It is certainly an ancient sanctuary earlier than the 11th century and altered in the 12th. Inside, remains of sculpture seeming to belong to Paleochristian art.
