Historique
A l'origine, il s'agissait d'une chapelle castrale donnée en 1225 à l'abbaye de la Chaise-Dieu par l'évêque de Clermont. Cette chapelle, agrandie au 15e siècle, est ensuite devenue église paroissiale. L'édifice, extérieurement dénaturé, reste à l'intérieur un exemple d'architecture des 14e (choeur et deux travées de la nef) et 15e siècles (collatéraux et travée ouest de la nef) , relativement rare dans la région. History
Originally, this was a castle chapel given in 1225 to the abbey of la Chaise-Dieu by the bishop of Clermont. This chapel, enlarged in the 15th century, subsequently became a parish church. The building, externally disfigured, remains internally an example of architecture of the 14th (choir and two bays of the nave) and 15th centuries (aisles and west bay of the nave), relatively rare in the region. The choir is formed of a rectangular bay and a polygonal apse. It is vaulted with six ribs moulded with a wide cavetto surmounted by a smaller cavetto on each side of the radiating listel springing from a large sculptured vault key with foliage and flanked by a human head on the front. In the chevet, a chamfered door permits communication with the sacristy. Capitals sculptured with foliage, animal heads or human figures.
