En 1644, les habitants du bourg de Marsac demandèrent à monseigneur Joschim d'Estaing, évêque de Clermont, qu'il leur fut permis d'établir une confrérie de pénitents blancs sous le titre de l'Annonciation de la Vierge. La chapelle dédiée à Saint-Jean serait réparée et spécialement aménagée dans ce but. La confrérie disparaît sous la Révolution, puis réapparaît à la Restauration jusqu'en 1900. £La chapelle est un petit édifice construit en grande partie à l'époque romane, composé d'une nef de deux travées voûtées en berceau légèrement brisé. L'abside est voûtée en cul de four. Au côté nord du chevet est accolée une tourelle pentagonale du 15e siècle renfermant un escalier à vis.

History
In 1644, the inhabitants of the borough of Marsac asked Monseigneur Joschim d'Estaing, bishop of Clermont, that they be permitted to establish a confraternity of white penitents under the title of the Annunciation of the Virgin. The chapel dedicated to Saint John would be repaired and specially arranged for this purpose. The confraternity disappeared at the Revolution, then reappeared at the Restoration until 1900. The chapel is a small edifice constructed in large part in the Romanesque period, composed of a nave of two bays vaulted with a barrel vault slightly pointed. The apse is vaulted with a cul-de-four. On the north side of the chevet is attached a pentagonal turret from the 15th century containing a spiral staircase.
