Le quartier de Montferrant, le plus ancien de l'agglomération, renferme des habitations remontant au Moyen-Age pour certaines. Les plus nombreuses datent de la Renaissance, témoignant de la prospérité du 16e siècle. Si les montants et les bases de mouluration prismatique de la porte d'entrée de cette maison indiquent le 16e siècle, les arcs en anse de panier sur la façade semblent avoir été refaits, comme l'ont été les motifs ornementaux qui les surmontent, à savoir une corniche supportée par trois pilastres ornés de chapiteaux dans le goût du 18e siècle. La porte mène à une cour intérieure présentant un escalier à vis dont la cage fait saillie à l'extérieur. History
The Montferrant district, the oldest in the conurbation, contains dwellings dating back to the Middle Ages in some cases. The most numerous date from the Renaissance, testifying to the prosperity of the 16th century. If the jambs and bases of prismatic moulding on the entrance door of this house indicate the 16th century, the basket-handle arches on the façade appear to have been remade, as have the ornamental motifs surmounting them, namely a cornice supported by three pilasters decorated with capitals in the style of the 18th century. The door leads to an interior courtyard presenting a spiral staircase whose shaft projects outward. This staircase gives access, on the first floor, to a gallery with two loges each covered with a barrel vault transverse to the axis of the gallery. These barrel vaults meet on a straight lintel running from the rear wall to a monolithic Doric column supporting the head arch of the barrel vaults. On the opposite side of the courtyard, at the corner, is found a turret positioned in corbelling on a corbel, decorated at its lower part with a sculptural motif representing a small bearded figure holding a scrolled band.
