History
The Maison de l'Eléphant, abutting the castle's wall, takes its name from a mural painting depicting this animal, placed in the spandrel of the axial twin openings. By its characteristics, this construction belongs to Romanesque art, but already evokes Gothic manner. Undoubtedly built initially in the 12th century, the house underwent modifications from the 14th to the 19th century, intended to transform it into a dwelling. The Romanesque openings were blocked and replaced by heteroclite windows.
