Ancienne voie artisanale, l'actuelle rue Pascal devint rue des Nobles quand, à partir du 16e siècle, les nouvelles et hautes fonctions administratives et de magistrature, acquises à Clermont, la peuplèrent de familles anoblies. La façade de cet immeuble comporte deux étages. Elle est surmontée d'une corniche très saillante au-dessus de laquelle un troisième étage surbaissé est percé d'une rangée de petites fenêtres paraissant ouvrir sur les combles. Le rez-de-chaussée comporte une partie centrale en léger décrochement présentant, au-dessus d'un soubassement, des assises horizontales taillées en bossages arrondis. Au milieu de cet avant-corps central est percé un portail rectangulaire. Trois fenêtres du premier étage s'ouvrent sur un balcon formé d'une dalle portée en encorbellement sur six consoles de fer forgé. Le balcon est limitée par une balustrade en fer forgé divisée en plusieurs panneaux. Deux panneaux latéraux ont un décor formé d'une palmette entre deux pistils ondulés opposés, dans un cadre aux angles duquel s'enroulent des volutes. Sur le devant font suite cinq panneaux, dont chacun comporte un motif central circulaire, dans un cadre d'enroulements symétriques et qu'accostent des fleurons épanouis au pistil saillant. Seul le panneau du milieu a un décor différent formé de branchage à feuilles de laurier encadrant le motif central circulaire où s'inscrit un X. Au-dessus du linteau fait saillie un fronton triangulaire porté sur consoles cannelées, dont la partie supérieure est ornée d'une corolle, et terminées dans le bas par des gouttes.

History
Former craft street, the present rue Pascal became rue des Nobles when, from the 16th century onwards, new and high administrative and magistrate positions, acquired in Clermont, populated it with ennobled families. The façade of this building comprises two storeys. It is surmounted by a very prominent cornice above which a third lowered storey is pierced by a row of small windows appearing to open onto the roof space. The ground floor comprises a central section in slight recession presenting, above a plinth, horizontal courses cut with rounded bosses. In the middle of this central avant-corps is pierced a rectangular portal. Three windows of the first floor open onto a balcony formed by a slab carried in corbel on six wrought iron consoles. The balcony is bounded by a wrought iron balustrade divided into several panels. Two lateral panels have a decoration formed of a palmette between two opposed undulating pistils, within a frame at whose angles scroll volutes. On the front follow five panels, each of which comprises a circular central motif, within a frame of symmetrical scrolls and which are flanked by fleurons spread at the prominent pistil. Only the middle panel has different decoration formed of branching with laurel leaves framing the circular central motif where an X is inscribed. Above the lintel projects a triangular pediment borne on fluted consoles, whose upper part is ornamented with a corolla, and terminated below by drops.
