Vestige de l'époque gothique, cette cave est un témoignage de l'urbanisation moyen-âgeuse de Clermont. Elle présente un plan complexe avec deux niveaux. Une première pièce voûtée d'arête sert de vestibule d'accès avec un escalier à deux volées perpendiculaires. Au-dessus de celui-ci, un culot sculpté rappelle la tête d'un éléphant. Un petit arc trilobé permet de communiquer entre la partie haute de l'escalier et le reste de la cave. Un passage assez étroit permet d'accéder à la seconde partie de la cave. A l'ouest de celui-ci se trouve un puits. La seconde pièce, plus vaste que la première, comporte quatre travées voûtées d'arêtes. Celles-ci sont reçues sur des culots sculptés reposant sur des pilastres. Ces culots affectent des formes variées (têtes d'animaux ; motifs géométriques).

History
A vestige of the Gothic period, this cellar is evidence of the medieval urbanisation of Clermont. It presents a complex plan with two levels. A first room with an edge vault serves as an access vestibule with a staircase in two perpendicular flights. Above this, a carved corbel recalls the head of an elephant. A small trilobed arch allows communication between the upper part of the staircase and the rest of the cellar. A fairly narrow passage allows access to the second part of the cellar. To the west of this is a well. The second room, larger than the first, comprises four bays with edge vaults. These are supported on carved corbels resting on pilasters. These corbels take various forms (animal heads; geometric motifs).
