History
Few elements of old carpentry remain at Châteldon. The panels of this 18th century door are a good example of rural style. Each of the two panels consists of three sections. The upper section is surrounded by a body of moulding formed of curves connected in accolades and decorated, towards the top, with a shell in low relief. The central section is surrounded in the same way and decorated at its centre with a corolla with projecting petals. The lower section, which is surmounted by a projecting cornice, is square. It is formed of relief geometric motifs arranged symmetrically around a lozenge.
