Protégeant un pont établi sur une dérivation du Vauziron, l'actuel beffroi est en réalité l'ancienne et unique porte de la première enceinte du village. History
Protecting a bridge established on a derivation of the Vauziron, the present-day belfry is in reality the old and only gate of the first enclosure of the village. This first enclosure has largely disappeared, absorbed by demolitions and reconstructions. The structure of this gate appears in the entrance arch whose core represents the original gate. A cornice of flat stones on wooden corbels separates the second and third levels. A pavilion roof with lantern houses the bell. At the third level, small square openings provided in the framework timbers are the vestiges of the communications of the tower with the wall-walk. The storey of the clock must have been built around the 16th century, transforming a fortification work into a belfry.
