Historique
Le château occupe l'extrémité d'un promontoire et forme un quadrilatère avec tours d'angle, le tout entouré de fossés secs. L'ensemble des constructions remonte au 15e siècle, avec quelques adjonctions et transformations postérieures. C'est vers 1485 qu'il fut construit par le vicomte Jean de Rohan. Les mâchicoulis sont en granit, à accolades avec consoles à triple assises. Le chemin de ronde est crénelé et couvert. L'accès à la cour intérieure s'effectue par un pont dormant qui a remplacé le pont-levis. La face sud présente le corps de logis et est flanquée de deux grosses tours. A l'étage du chemin de ronde, ajout au 16e siècle de lucarnes à frontons aigus. L'aile en retour, à l'ouest, présente des dispositions particulières en façade pour faciliter l'écoulement des eaux. Dans le prolongement du corps de logis, des gradins conduisent à la chapelle en terrasse. Au 18e siècle, modification des façades sur cour. A l'intérieur, une pièce conserve des boiseries du 18e.

History
The castle occupies the end of a promontory and forms a quadrilateral with corner towers, all surrounded by dry moats.
