Historique
Maison construite en 1586, présentant une façade en pans de bois. Les montants du rez-de-chaussée représentent deux personnages sortant de gaines. De chaque côté de l'entrée se trouve, sur la gauche, un personnage entier ; sur la droite, deux personnages superposés. Au-dessus, des modillons et des consoles soutiennent les semelles et pièces de traves qui sont moulurées et décorées. Entre le plancher du premier étage et l'appui des fenêtres, de petits personnages ont été placés dans les montants. Tous les éléments rentrant dans la construction du pan de bois sont sculptés. Sablières, traverses, abouts de solives sont décorés d'oves, de rais, de coeur et de feuilles d'acanthe. Cette sculpture fruste et naïve est une interprétation des motifs classiques de la Renaissance. L'appellation "Marmousets" provient de ce décor de façade.

History
House built in 1586, presenting a façade in timber framing. The uprights of the ground floor represent two figures emerging from sheaths. On each side of the entrance is found, on the left, an entire figure; on the right, two superimposed figures. Above, modillions and consoles support the plates and pieces of bays which are moulded and decorated. Between the floor of the first level and the sill of the windows, small figures have been placed in the uprights. All the elements entering into the construction of timber framing are sculpted. Sill beams, cross-members, ends of joists are decorated with ovolo, astragal, heart and acanthus leaves. This crude and naive sculpture is an interpretation of the classical motifs of the Renaissance. The appellation "Marmousets" comes from this façade decoration.
