Historique

History
Le Puits Sauvage, a vestige of an ancient lordship, was entirely developed in the middle of the 18th century by a family of shipowners from Saint-Malo descended from Jacques Cartier. The entirety of the architecture is representative of a series of modest malouinières (austerity and symmetry of facades, etc.), but the overall design makes it an atypical and original example: arrangement of buildings around a square courtyard, gable bordering the path and interior arrangements of the main dwelling (namely the existence of two staircases located in the wings). While one may regret the disappearance of certain elements (laundry room, gardener's pavilions, chimney of the east gable of the main dwelling, garden design), due to bombardments, the whole remains nevertheless close to what it was at the time of its construction and has retained a certain interior authenticity.
