Le château de la Bourbansais semble tirer son nom des Bourbans, ancienne famille noble citée au 15e siècle. Il relevait de la seigneurie de Châteauneuf. La demeure se compose de deux corps de logis placés en retour d'équerre (du 17e et du 18e siècle). La façade sud comprend un bâtiment orné de gerbières, sa porte est surmontée d'un fronton triangulaire. Cette façade est flanquée de deux tourelles rondes à corniches à modillons et à toits en dôme sommés de campaniles. Les tourelles sont accostées à angle droit par deux constructions basses aux toits à la Mansart. En avant de la façade sud s'élèvent deux bâtiments à pans coupés et à corniches à modillons ; l'un d'eux est une chapelle. Plus avant encore se dressent deux tours, dont l'une est une ancienne fuie. Devant elle s'étend une cour qui donne accès à un ancien jardin transformé en pelouses. La façade ouest présente un étroit corps de bâtiment mansardé, flanqué de deux avant-corps que somment de grands frontons arrondis et deux tourelles. La façade ouest est précédée d'un vaste jardin à la française, terminé par une terrasse que protège une douve murée.

History
The château de la Bourbansais seems to derive its name from the Bourbans, an ancient noble family cited in the 15th century. It was subject to the lordship of Châteauneuf. The residence consists of two main dwellings placed at right angles (from the 17th and 18th centuries). The south façade comprises a building decorated with loopholes, its door is topped by a triangular pediment. This façade is flanked by two round turrets with modillion cornices and dome-shaped roofs crowned with campaniles. The turrets are abutted at right angles by two low buildings with Mansart roofs. In front of the south façade stand two buildings with cut corners and modillion cornices; one of them is a chapel. Further forward still stand two towers, one of which is an old dovecote. In front of it extends a courtyard which gives access to an old garden transformed into lawns. The west façade presents a narrow mansarded building, flanked by two avant-corps topped by large rounded pediments and two turrets. The west façade is preceded by a vast French garden, terminated by a terrace protected by a moated ditch.
