Situé à Landerneau, rue de la Fontaine-Blanche, à deux cents mètres au nord-ouest de l'église Saint-Houardon, l'ancien couvent des Capucins constitue par son ensemble (cloître, chapelle et bâtiments conventuels) , un des monuments intéressants de Landerneau. Edifié à la fin de la première moitié du 17e siècle, la cour intérieure et le cloître ont su conserver à travers les temps leur aspect d'origine sans avoir eu à subir de modifications. Malheureusement, cet ensemble a été morcelé. Le cloître, de forme carrée, est supporté par vingt piliers de fûts octogonaux et de bases et chapiteaux carrés portant directement la charpente. Sur ce cloître s'ouvre, dans la partie sud-ouest, une porte cintrée d'inspiration Renaissance encadrée de pilastres d'angles cannelés d'ordre dorique. L'ancien bâtiment conventuel ouvrant côté rue des Capucins offre une ordonnance agréable, mais seul le portail d'entrée, de syle ogival paraît retenir l'attention.

History
Located in Landerneau, rue de la Fontaine-Blanche, two hundred metres to the north-west of the church of Saint-Houardon, the former convent of the Capuchins constitutes by its ensemble (cloister, chapel and conventional buildings), one of the interesting monuments of Landerneau. Built in the latter half of the first half of the 17th century, the inner courtyard and the cloister have managed to preserve through time their original appearance without having had to undergo modifications. Unfortunately, this ensemble has been broken up. The cloister, of square form, is supported by twenty pillars with octagonal shafts and square bases and capitals bearing directly the roof structure. This cloister opens, in the south-western part, onto a round arch door of Renaissance inspiration framed by fluted corner pilasters of Doric order. The former conventional building opening onto rue des Capucins offers a pleasant arrangement, but only the entrance portal, of ogival style seems to warrant attention.
