Historique
Edifice néo-gothique dû à l'architecte diocésain Bigot qui a réuni dans ce château un certain nombre de modèles empruntés à l'architecture civile gothique (Blois, Pierrefonds, Josselin...). Le corps de bâtiment principal, en forme de L, est doté d'ouvrages annexes : corps de garde à l'entrée du parc ; tour ; porte charretière et porte piétonne fermant la cour d'honneur à l'ouest ; mur de soutènement créant douve au nord de cette cour. Les fenêtres de la salle des gardes sont ornées de vitraux dont certains figurent les rois de France. Le plafond en est en chêne sculpté, censé reproduire celui de la salle capitulaire de Reims.

History
Neo-Gothic building due to the diocesan architect Bigot who brought together in this castle a certain number of models borrowed from Gothic civil architecture (Blois, Pierrefonds, Josselin...). The main body of building, in the form of an L, is provided with ancillary works: guard-house at the entrance to the park; tower; carriage gate and pedestrian gate closing the cour d'honneur to the west; retaining wall creating a moat to the north of this courtyard. The windows of the guards' hall are decorated with stained-glass windows, some of which depict the kings of France. The ceiling is of carved oak, supposed to reproduce that of the chapter house of Reims.
