Historique

History
The votive presence of buboes on the shaft evokes the memory of the great plague epidemic which ravaged Léon in the late 16th century. The base takes the form of a die on which rests an entablature with architrave, frieze and cornice. The frieze is ornamented with a chain motif. A set of six buttresses buttress the lower part of the shaft. These buttresses are cut in a quarter circle and their ensemble draws an openwork dome. The circular and bossed shaft. The double console of Kersanton is today deprived of the two or four saint personages (back to back in pairs) which it received originally. The crosspiece presents, to the west, Christ and, to the east, a blessing bishop.
