Historique

History
The parish church built in the 11th century, now disappeared, was enriched with a bell tower in the mid-14th century, the only medieval part of the current building. The church in place today was built from 1924 to 1936. Intended to honour the memory of Saint Geneviève, it was conceived on the model of the great pilgrimage basilicas of the Romanesque period by the architect Georges Pradelle. Two campaigns of work were undertaken for its construction: the first was devoted to the transept and the second, to the sanctuary, composed of the apse surrounded by a deambulatory, and the crypt. The interior is covered with a decoration of frescoes. The cartoons of the stained glass windows of the south transept are the work of the abbé Buffet and the stained glass windows of the deambulatory are by Louis Barillet.
