Historique
Sous-station électrique construite en 1911 par l'architecte Paul Friesé pour la Compagnie générale du Métropolitain de Paris. Prenant le relais de la centrale électrique de Bercy (momentanément mise hors service par l'inondation de janvier 1910) , la sous-station transformait le courant triphasé venant de la centrale thermique de Saint-Denis (93) en courant continu pour les besoins du métropolitain. La structure est en charpente métallique avec des façades traitées en brique silico-calcaire dans un goût "médiévo-islamique". L'édifice a été réaménagé de 1967 à 1971 avec le percement de fenêtres dans la partie basse de la façade donnant sur la rue de la Cerisaie.

History
Electrical sub-station built in 1911 by architect Paul Friesé for the Compagnie générale du Métropolitain de Paris. Taking over from the Bercy power station (temporarily put out of service by the January 1910 flooding), the sub-station transformed three-phase current from the Saint-Denis (93) thermal power station into direct current for the needs of the metropolitan railway. The structure is of metal roof structure with facades treated in silico-calcareous brick in a "medico-Islamic" taste. The building was refurbished from 1967 to 1971 with the opening of windows in the lower part of the facade facing rue de la Cerisaie.
