Malgré les déprédations qu'elle a subies durant l'occupation nazie, la synagogue de Bergheim présente un intérêt architectural non négligeable. S'inscrivant dans le courant général de son époque, elle adopte le vocabulaire néo-roman, tant dans le schéma des volumes (nef centrale, bas-côtés) que dans le décor de la façade ouest. A l'intérieur, où l'on retrouve une ordonnance médiévale dans l'organisation d'une travée, c'est la hauteur de l'élévation qui surprend pour un édifice de dimensions relativement réduites et compose, avec ses grandes arcades, un volume harmonieux. Témoin d'une communauté implantée depuis le 14e siècle, éteinte aujourd'hui.
