History
The current schoolhouse, situated beside the church of Bergheim, preserves the vestiges of an older construction which, according to Kraus, would have served as an ossuary. These vestiges consist of an entrance door and two arcades, paired together. This door and these arcades are adorned with interesting carved decoration, of Renaissance character. Between the arcades figures an inscription, indecipherable, where only the date of 1550 is recognizable - which is also found again on the entrance door where are distinguished, likewise some letters sculpted in the stone.
