Edifice médiéval de plan trapézoïdal flanqué de quatre tours, qui présente deux périodes de construction, le Moyen Age et le 16e siècle. Au cours du 16e siècle, il fut réaménagé puis définitivement ruiné. L'édifice fut vendu comme bien national à la Révolution. L'absence de déblais semble indiquer qu'il fut utilisé comme carrière de pierres. Des communs avoisinants et des fortifications extérieures ne subsiste que la ligne d'arasement des fondations. Important pour l'histoire médiévale du pays basque. Notoriété de la famille de Belzunce (François de Belzunce était évêque de Marseille au début du 18e siècle).

History
Medieval edifice of trapezoidal plan flanked by four towers, which presents two periods of construction, the Middle Ages and the 16th century. During the 16th century, it was remodelled and then definitively ruined. The edifice was sold as national property at the Revolution. The absence of debris seems to indicate that it was used as a stone quarry. Of the neighbouring outbuildings and external fortifications there remains only the line of the foundation levelling. Important for the medieval history of the Basque country. Notability of the Belzunce family (François de Belzunce was bishop of Marseille in the early 18th century).
