Le marquis Jean César de Mesplès fut l'un des personnages importants de la Société béarnaise du 18e siècle. C'est lui qui remplaça le manoir par le château actuel avec écuries, granges, basse-cour, entouré de terres labourables, vignes et bois. L'intérieur conserve des éléments de décor daté des années 1750-1760 en font le plus bel exemple des châteaux 18e siècle du Vic-Bilh : boiseries, stucs, toiles peintes d'inspiration orientale.

History
The marquis Jean César de Mesplès was one of the important personages of 18th-century Béarnaise society. It was he who replaced the manor with the present castle with stables, barns, poultry yard, surrounded by arable land, vineyards and woodland. The interior retains decorative elements dated to the years 1750-1760 which make it the finest example of 18th-century castles in the Vic-Bilh: wainscoting, stucco, painted canvases of oriental inspiration.
