History
High Empire site comprising a forum, a basilica, a curia, a craftsman's quarter and probably a temple. The tower was located on the Gallo-Roman road connecting Agen to Périgueux and probably marked a crossroads. It stood a few metres from the praetorium which was transformed into an abbey under the Carolingians. It can be considered as the cella of a temple which was perhaps surrounded by a circular gallery. It could date back to the 2nd century.
