Le château est l'ancienne demeure des Carbon de Faulong, intendant des chasses de Henri IV, en 1582. Ce haut personnage, aux ordres de Jeanne d'Albret, dut assurer la surveillance de la résidence forcée de Henri de Navarre aux Tours de Barbaste. De nombreuses dépendances jouxtaient le manoir, en particulier des écuries érigées au 18e siècle, sous Louis XV. Aujourd'hui, ce qui reste du bâtiment peut se résumer à tout l'édifice principal, les écuries ayant été démolies. Le bâtiment principal a souffert d'un incendie en 1933.

History
The castle is the former dwelling of the Carbon de Faulong, superintendent of the hunts of Henry IV, in 1582. This high-ranking personage, under the orders of Jeanne d'Albret, had to ensure the surveillance of the forced residence of Henry of Navarre at the Towers of Barbaste. Numerous outbuildings adjoined the manor, in particular stables erected in the 18th century, under Louis XV. Today, what remains of the building can be summed up as the entire main building, the stables having been demolished. The main building suffered from a fire in 1933.
