En 1206, les seigneurs de Poyanne ont construit une bastide sur l'emplacement déjà choisi par les Romains pour y établir un camp. Une demeure plus confortable remplaça l'ancienne forteresse au début du 17e siècle. L'architecte Gratien de Lerm fut chargé des plans du château. Le bâtiment se décompose en cinq pavillons, celui du centre en saillie sur les autres. Sa toiture est construite en forme de dôme surmonté par un belvédère. Des bandeaux soulignent les trois étages. History
In 1206, the lords of Poyanne built a bastide on the site already chosen by the Romans to establish a camp. A more comfortable dwelling replaced the old fortress at the beginning of the 17th century.
