Casino construit en 1928 par l'architecte parisien André Granet en collaboration avec deux architectes de Dax, Albert Pomade et Jean Prunetti. L'édifice fait partie d'un ensemble avec l'Hôtel Splendid voisin ; l'architecte parisien Roger-Henri Expert collabore avec Granet pour les premiers plans qui envisagent deux casinos et plusieurs hôtels, destinés à remplacer les thermes et le casino datant de 1894, détruit par un incendie en juillet 1926. Edifié en béton armé enduit, le casino comporte un amphithéâtre à ciel ouvert, d'où son nom d'Atrium-casino. La grande salle de spectacles de 800 places est tapissée de plaques de stuc dorées et argentées, réalisées par l'entreprise Pinaquay de Bayonne (on ignore le nom du dessinateur). Le bar américain est décoré de vitraux dessinés par le maître-verrier Louis Barillet et donnant les noms des cocktails à la mode. Propriété de la ville depuis 1968, le casino a fait l'objet de différents projets de réhabilitation en espace d'animation.

History
Casino built in 1928 by Parisian architect André Granet in collaboration with two architects from Dax, Albert Pomade and Jean Prunetti. The building is part of an ensemble with the neighbouring Hôtel Splendid; the Parisian architect Roger-Henri Expert collaborates with Granet for the preliminary plans which envisaged two casinos and several hotels, intended to replace the thermal baths and the casino dating from 1894, destroyed by fire in July 1926. Built in rendered reinforced concrete, the casino comprises an open-air amphitheatre, hence its name Atrium-casino. The large performance hall of 800 seats is lined with gilded and silvered stucco plaques, created by the company Pinaquay of Bayonne (the name of the designer is unknown). The American bar is decorated with stained glass designed by master glass-worker Louis Barillet and bearing the names of fashionable cocktails. Property of the town since 1968, the casino has been the subject of various rehabilitation projects as an entertainment venue.
