Capbreton fut, au Moyen Age, un port maritime très actif. La maison du Rey est l'un des rares témoins qui subsistent de cette époque florissante. History
Capbreton was, in the Middle Ages, a very active maritime port. The house of the Rey is one of the rare witnesses that remain from this flourishing period. The most interesting façade is found on rue Lartigau. A first level in masonry reinforced with a protective dado, is pierced by a window and a door with a round arch. The upper storey rests on corbelled joists and is constituted of three superimposed rows of discharge in Saint-Andrew's cross. Two windows with rectangular wooden frames open in the middle of the façade. The gable is armed with vertical posts. The rest of the house is built in masonry. The façade on rue du Prieuré has a window opened in the traces of an old mullioned window.
