A la fin du 13e siècle, les religieux de l'ordre hospitalier des Antonins implantent à Pondaurat sur une des routes de Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle, une commanderie avec église conventuelle, à laquelle ils attachent un moulin. Fortifié, celui-ci commandait le couvent et le pont péager auquel il est accolé. Le moulin en pierre de taille et moellon calcaire présente trois meurtrières, qui couvraient l'accès du pont-barrage, à sept arches et long de 13 m. Devenu propriété de l'ordre de Malte, puis vendu comme bien national, remanié à différente périodes, il reste en pleine activité jusqu'à la fin du 19e siècle et fonctionne ensuite de façon réduite. Désaffecté au début des années 1960, il est réaménagé en habitation. L'équipement se réduisait à une paire de rouets en prise directe sur les meules.

History
At the end of the 13th century, the religious of the hospitalier order of the Antonines established at Pondaurat on one of the roads to Saint-Jacques-de-Compostelle a commandery with convent church, to which they attached a mill. Fortified, it commanded the convent and the toll bridge to which it is adjoined. The mill in dressed stone and limestone rubble stone presents three loopholes, which covered the access of the dam bridge, with seven arches and 13 m long. Having become property of the order of Malta, then sold as national property, reworked in different periods, it remains in full operation until the end of the 19th century and subsequently functions in a reduced manner. Disused at the beginning of the 1960s, it was converted into a dwelling. The equipment was reduced to a pair of small wheels in direct drive on the millstones.
