Historique
Un édifice plus ancien existait sur le site. De 1860 à 1869, Armand Coureau, constructeur de navires et député de l'arrondissement de Libourne, fit construire le château actuel et tracer le parc avec ses aménagements. La construction de style éclectique consiste en un corps de logis composé d'un étage principal au-dessus d'un niveau de soubassement abritant les pièces de service. Ce corps de logis comporte trois pavillons : un à chaque extrémité, en retour d'équerre sur la façade est, et le troisième, plus élevé, au centre, cantonné de deux tourelles sur la façade ouest. Un escalier tournant à deux volées et montées convergentes, sans doute antérieur au reste de l'édifice, mène à la porte principale. Les abords du château conservent divers bâtiments de brique et de pierre, ainsi que des vestiges d'aménagement : un chai et un cuvier, un belvédère avec terrasse, un château d'eau hispano-mauresque, une maison de gardiens, une serre métallique fermée d'un côté par un mur à décor néo-classique, un bassin avec vasque à têtes de lions...

History
An older building existed on the site. From 1860 to 1869, Armand Coureau, a shipbuilder and deputy for the arrondissement of Libourne, had the present château built and the park laid out with its amenities. The construction of eclectic style consists of a main dwelling composed of a principal storey above a basement level housing the service rooms. This main dwelling comprises three pavilions: one at each end, set back at right angles on the east façade, and the third, taller, at the centre, flanked by two turrets on the west façade.
