Historique
Les parents de Mme Haussmann possédaient une chartreuse à Cestas. Après leur décès en 1862, Haussmann et son épouse décidèrent de reconstruire l'édifice. Victor Baltard en dessina les plans et les travaux furent confiés à l'architecte Duphot. Haussmann s'y retira en 1882 et y rédigea ses mémoires. Le bâtiment rectangulaire comporte un rez-de-chaussée et deux étages sous comble. Les côtés nord et sud présentent un avant-corps semi hexagonal. En avant de la façade sud se trouvent les dépendances : château d'eau polygonal, écuries et chai à vin. History
The parents of Mme Haussmann owned a chartreuse at Cestas. After their death in 1862, Haussmann and his wife decided to rebuild the building. Victor Baltard drew up the plans and the work was entrusted to the architect Duphot. Haussmann retired there in 1882 and wrote his memoirs there.
