Historique
Remarquable exemple d'architecture néo-classique, le petit hôtel Labottière a été construit entre 1784 et 1788 pour Etienne Labottière, bourgeois de Bordeaux, par l'architecte François Lhôte. Restauré dans son état d'origine, cet hôtel entre cour et jardin, véritable synthèse du goût à la grecque, est un témoin précieux de l'art de vivre au 18e siècle. L'entrée se fait aujourd'hui par la porte carrossière des communs. Au fond de la cour se trouve le bâtiment principal et, de chaque côté, une aile en retour. La façade arrière était, à l'origine, la principale. Décors sculptés de guirlandes, feuillages, pilastres à chapiteaux toscans… A l'intérieur, une pièce conserve encore ses boiseries et cheminée d'époque. Cet hôtel a été anciennement attribué à l'architecte Jean Laclotte.

A remarkable example of neo-classical architecture, the small hôtel Labottière was built between 1784 and 1788 for Etienne Labottière, bourgeois of Bordeaux, by the architect François Lhôte. Restored to its original state, this hôtel between courtyard and garden, a true synthesis of Greek taste, is a precious testimony to the art of living in the 18th century. Entry is now made through the coach-door of the outbuildings. At the far end of the courtyard is the main building and, on each side, a return wing. The rear façade was originally the main one. Sculptured decorations of garlands, foliage, pilasters with Tuscan capitals… Inside, one room still preserves its period panelling and fireplace. This hôtel was formerly attributed to the architect Jean Laclotte.
