Historique
Château construit par le marquis de Fayet, conseiller au Parlement de Bordeaux. Pour assainir les marais qui constituaient le sol du domaine, dès la fin du 17e ou au début du 18e siècle, les propriétaires firent appel à des Hollandais spécialistes du drainage. De nombreux canaux d'irrigation et de drainage existent encore. Le château était primitivement constitué par un long corps de logis n'ayant qu'un rez-de-chaussée. Le fronton de la porte a été refait. Ce corps de logis était cantonné par deux pavillons carrés coiffés en pyramide. Les tourelles rondes paraissent une adjonction postérieure, comme les ailes de la façade d'entrée.

History
Castle built by the marquis de Fayet, counsellor to the Parlement of Bordeaux. To drain the marshes which constituted the soil of the estate, from the late 17th or early 18th century, the owners called on Dutch specialists in drainage. Many irrigation and drainage canals still exist. The castle was originally constituted by a long main dwelling having only a ground floor. The pediment of the door was remade. This dwelling block was flanked by two square pavilions topped with pyramids. The round turrets appear to be a later addition, as do the wings of the entrance facade.
